2026 Spring Camp in Spoken Sanskrit (1).png

***Important Update: We have moved the Workshop to Hong Kong and updated the Schedule!!!***

For the very first time, Dr. Sadananda Das of Leipzig University will be conducting a workshop in Spoken Sanskrit in China. Contrary to common misperception that Sanskrit is a “dead” language used mainly in written texts, Sanskrit is a living language and can be used for modern daily conversations. This immersive program, designed for newcomers as well as returning students who wished to do a refresher,  focuses on developing conversational skills in Sanskrit, including self-introductions, discussing personal interests, and storytelling. No prior knowledge of Spoken Sanskrit is needed, but basic Classical Sanskrit grammar is assumed. With interactive learning and multimedia tools, students will gain confidence in using Sanskrit as a living language. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to engage in daily conversations using classical and modern vocabulary about their lives and interests, making the study of Sanskrit a dynamic and enriching experience and contributing to their understanding of the written language.

This is a rare opportunity to participate in this unique program in our region, saving much travelling time and costs.
